The European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) team will arrive today in Manila to verify improvements in the Philippines’ compliance with the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) conducted by maritime-related agencies.The visit of the EMSA team, led by Dr. Jaime Veiga and Capt. Antonio Hevia Rodriguez, will verify if the country’s maritime training inspectors have sufficiently addressed EMSA’s concerns after its first assessment mission.
